Kasuga produces various corona treatment standalone systems to meet different customer requirements, and even produces custom made solutions based on customer request/specifications.
Air Plasma
Air plasma is a device that modifies the surface of a workpiece by directly spraying an arc-shaped corona emitted from a discharge electrode onto the workpiece.
Corona discharge occurs when a high voltage is applied between a pair of opposing electrodes attached to the tip of the discharge electrode, and an arc-shaped corona is further generated with the assistance of the built-in fan. The hydrophilicity of the base material surface is improved by the plasma effect (introduction of functional groups) caused by the direct irradiation of this arc-shaped corona and by the thermal melting caused by thermal factors.
Since the arc-shaped corona is forcibly irradiated using air, it is possible to handle workpieces with complex shapes, and large-scale equipment is not required.
Real Plasma
Real Plasma is a plasma processing device that uses high frequency and high voltage electrical energy to irradiate plasma-like ionized gas generated inside a discharge nozzle to modify the surface of the target object and remove organic matter. Since plasma is almost electrically neutral, there is no electrical or thermal damage to the substrate being treated, making it possible to treat the surface of sensitive substrates such as printed wiring boards and liquid crystal panels.
Note: Plasma is the fourth state of matter after solid, liquid, and gas, and is said to be a state in which gas molecules are ionized and separated into electrons and positive ions, which are in motion. Real plasma uses electrical energy to generate plasma.
Kasuga Corona Surface Modification Test Equipment
This is a surface modification device that saves space and allows experiments. Surface modification can be easily performed by simply setting cut samples up to A4 size on the processing table by irradiating it with high-frequency, high-voltage discharge.
This treatment has the effect of improving the printability and adhesion of the base material.
Since ceramic electrodes are used as standard specifications, it is possible to process not only insulating sheets but also conductive sheets such as aluminium foil.
As an option, we also have a metal electrode kit (aluminium electrode and dielectric mat) specifically designed for insulating substrates.
Kasuga 3-in-1 Hybrid Treating System
This is an integrated unit that modifies the surface of the base material with corona treatment, completely eliminates static electricity with high-density static electricity removal, and performs high-density dust removal on particles on static-free base materials. It has a compact design so it can be installed in the limited space of processing machines such as coaters and laminators.
Kasuga Corona/Plasma Surface Treatment Equipment with Unwinder and Rewinder
This is a device equipped with unwinding and winding for offline processing that is custom made based on customer’s specifications.
