Pace offers a range of hot air and infrared rework systems that allows flexible and effective removal/installation of various surface mount components.
PACE IR1000 Infrared BGA & SMT Rework Station
The IR 1000 is a low-cost, remarkably flexible and effective rework system, capable of installing and removing passives, QFP’s, SOIC’s, PLCC’s, MLF’s, LCCC’s, TSOP’s, QFN’s and BGA’s. It is ideal for post assembly rework, repair, and low volume/short run production operations. Economical and easy to use, the IR 1000 delivers high-end functionality, moving far beyond expensive, bulky rework stations by offering unparalleled performance at an affordable price. It does not require heat-focusing nozzles, saving you thousands in additional costs. A microprocessor driven, semi-automated system that does not require an external PC, the IR 1000 allows for simple one zone profiles up to more complicated multi zone profiles and features PACE’s exclusive “Learn Mode” that assists the user with developing profiles. The unit uses a combination of IR top heating coupled with powerful IR bottom heating for an effective, repeatable heating process. An optional PC software package offers an easy operator interface and greater flexibility, allowing for profile management and graphing of temperature data.
PACE ST300 Convective Hot Air Reflow System
The ST 300 is an analog, self-contained system for the manual installation and removal of SMD’s. The unit offers a non-contact heating method for the manual installation and removal of virtually any standard surface mount component including BGAs, QFNs, SOICs and many other SMDs. The system uses a pump to generate airflow that first passes through a heater, where it is warmed to the appropriate temperature, and then through a nozzle that “shapes” the air stream for the specific component. Easy-to-read dials allow adjustment of air temperature and flow rate. The ST300 features a Quiet-Flo turbine blower for close to silent operation and immediately turns off air flow after use – the unit does not require a “cool-down” period where hot air blows through the handpiece, as competitive units do. The heavy-duty, durable metal housing ensures years of service. Additionally, the ST300 comes with the Lo-Flo pump and the vacuum wand (PV-65 Pik-Vac Wand) for manipulating components manually. The capabilities of the ST300 can be greatly enhanced when coupled with the ST500A Z-Avis Platform, and PACE Preheaters such as the PH100, ST400 or ST1600.
PACE ST325 Digital, Programmable Hot Air Reflow System
The ST 325 is a digital, self-contained system that is fully programmable and can be used to remove or install surface mount components when individual or multiple operations are to be run. From the front panel, the system can be used in either manual or “timed” modes. Manual mode means that the system generates heated airflow when the cycle button is pressed; when it is pressed a second time the system shuts off. “Timed” modes allow the operator to create up to 20 “Profiles” that consist of time and temperature parameters to ensure process control and repeatability. The system uses a pump to generate airflow that first passes through a heater, where it is warmed to the appropriate temperature, and then through optionally available heat-focusing nozzles that “shape” the air stream for the specific component. A user-friendly front panel interface with Digital Display allows for easy adjustment of temperature, flow rate and timing and intuitive programming and profile development.
PACE ST925 SMT Rework System : Fully Programmable, Self-Contained Convective/Hot Air Station
The ST 925 (No. 8007-0576) features a self-contained convective/hot air SMT rework station that is fully programmable and can be used to remove and install surface mount components. A unique adapter allows instant change out of nozzles, without tools. Over 80 low-cost nozzles are available for a wide variety of surface mount components.
The system combines three popular PACE products together – ST 325 Programmable Convective/Hot Air Rework Station, the PH 100 Low Profile Infrared Preheater and ST 500A Z-Axis Platform – into one convenient, low-cost SMT Rework System. Together, the system provides a powerful 575 Watt convective top-side heater plus a 1600 Watt IR bottom-side preheater which allows operators to safely rework PCBs for fast, efficient soldering, rework or repair, even on the highest mass, thermally challenging, lead-free PCBs.
